my 16 year old daughter has been having trouble coping with a new school she moved to a year ago.she is also having trouble with her studies as she finds it hard to concentrate for plong periods and also gets angry with us for telling her to study

she has started remaining aloof and withdrawn for the last month and does not talk to us and wants to be left alone

she is also unable to make new friends at school and gets upset at even the slightest criticism both at home and at school

what shall i do?

This long after arriving at a new school, it would be expected that a teen would have made a more positive adaptation. Given the combination of mood and relationship problems, I'd suggest you seek a mental health evaluation. She shows some signs of possible depression, or at least adolescent adjustment issues.

is she being bullied?  Girls are more subtle than boys; it can be  simply name-calling or shunning behaviour.  If the problems are new and seem to be related to the new school, I'd suspect she doesn't have her own peer group to be a part of.  She may benefit from another sport or group to participate in to ease this transition......

just a suggestion.
