Adderral abuse

by Shirley Mountaine, Nov 12, 1999 12:00AM
I am an adult and I was recently diagnosed with ADD. I am so upset that this was not diagnosed at a younger age. It has caused so much pain and I lost so many years. I have started to use more than is prescribed. They started me on 10mg 2x day. I am taking 40mg 2x a day. I know it sounds stupid but I am in such a hurry to be/feel normal.

How do people who take these amphetamines deal with the fact that they will live their lives on a controlled substance.

Any replies would be appreciated

Thanks

Shirley

To Mrs. Shirley Mountaine:

I'm responding to a very old inquiry you made about your taking Adderral. I don't even know if you are still active in this forum or not, so I'm just going for broke here.

I also have ADHD and have been prescribed Adderral for a little over a year now, just discovering this site today. Although I have never abused this medicine, I can relate to you DIRECTLY in your confusion of normalcy and reality. I understand entirely what this medicine does to you emotionally and physically, and it has effected me incredibly.

Please email me if you ever want to discuss anything or have any questions that you feel can be better answered by someone who takes Adderral.
