Accutane hair loss§liver damage

by marceloengler, Apr 13, 2001 12:00AM

I only have 2 questions:

1. Is there anyway to counter attack the hair thinning of Accutane with multi vitamin therapy, medicated shampoos, herbal suplements....?

2. I am taking a pseudo like steroid suplement for Bodybuilding called Nortesten (hope you've heard about it), which is norandrostenediol + norandrostenedione, both have androsten on it. The company says it is broken down on your liver. If I take Accutane with that, am I increasing the chances of causing liver damage or raising by Trig and cholesterol levels?

Sincerely

  Michael

I have never seen hair loss from Accutane.  I'm sure it can happen, but it isn't common.  No way to prevent it that I know of, though.

I don't know about the supplements.  If your doctor is checking blood, it shouldn't be a problem, though.  Ask your doctor (and the manufacturer.)

Best.
