Question Title: Chronic Reflux Problems

My son has been diagnosed with Cerebral Palsy, epilepsy,
and cortical blindness. He was born at 29 weeks and was
diagnosed with reflux before he left the hospital.
Treatments for the reflux have included Zantac, Propulsid,
Bethanicol, stomach wrap (which is now loose), Pylora Plastia,
and G-Tube. He could only tolerate Neocate Infant Formula.
At 10 months, he was diagnosed with infantile spasms and was
given ACTH. The ACTH was the only thing that stopped the
gagging, vomiting and he would finally eat.

He is now almost 2. He was put back on ACTH 2 months ago
since that is the only known treatment to stop his vomiting.
This is not a normal side effect of ACTH, but it helps.
As you know, ACTH is dangerous and this is not a normal use of the
hormone. He's had an ACTH Stim Test and the results are normal.
The neurologist wants him off ACTH as soon as
possible because of the adverse side effects. His vomiting
is so severe that he is losing weight. This may be a
neurological problem, but no neurologist has an answer. We
are very desperate! Here are my questions:
Why is ACTH the only treatment that has worked?
Is there anything that can duplicate ACTH?
Is there anything else that can be done?
