gall bladder sludge

by xcaroga, Nov 06, 2001 12:00AM
I have had two episodes of Right Upper Quadrant discomfort (spasms).  The Ultrasound showed NO gall stones.  My Doctor said I may have gall bladder sludge and he ordered a Hida Scan. What can I do to promote the passage of this sludge? I am currently eating a low fat diet without problems.  I am willing to do anything to get my functional gall bladder back! Thank you.  xc

Ask your doctor about taking Actigall.  This is given to patients to help thin the bile out.  I would think if you have sludge that the Actigall might be something you could try.  At any rate, ask your doctor about it and see what he/she says.  Take care!
