Mine is not a question, but hopefully an answer for someone out there. I have had severe IBS for a long time. I remember rocking back & forth on the toilet for hours, and taking off my clothes cause they were drentched because of so much pain. My cycle was being constipated for days, then one day, every few days, I would start the pain, on the toilet for hours, then finally have exploding diarrea. I was about 14 years old then. My mother used to bring me a coffee & 2 shots of brandy.. a few times I went to hospital & had a shot in the rear. ANYHOW, I had an urge to put this out there in case this helps anyone..I cant remember if it comes from a doctor, or the internet, but I started to take flax powder twice a day. a very large tablespoon in about 8 oz of water , followed by another 4-6 oz of water..I did this twice a day. I was feeling better in about 4 days. I cannot even remember the last time I had this IBS pain.- NO MORE ..no pain, bloating, ect..If you have not tried this, please try it.. You have noting to lose. It is not very expansive, and flax is healthy for you..I buy it at a health store..I have been taking this for at least 8 years now, and it has literally saved my life. hope this helps someone. I will never stop taking this.

I've been using flaxseed meal on my food, and I'm getting good results from that.  I'm hoping more people will find this information about the flaxseed meal (flax powder), because it's actually really soothing to the gut.  Psyllium fiber is irritating to the gut.  Your suggestion is a very good one.

Hello,

Well, heres what happened with me. I spent about 20 years dealing with CFS, Add, Ibs, Anxiousness and at times Acid reflux. It came and went for many years but as time passed I reached a point where I had to deal with it all daily. During all those years I was searching for answers as to what the ROOT of the problem might be to all this suffering. I spent mega bucks on tests medications and natural remedies all to come up empty handed but eventually found what I needed to get me out of this horrible situation. I had heard about a condition called Leaky Gut and started researching it. I found out that by having a compromised Gut you could end up with food intolerance which lead to inflammation in the entire body, gut and throat....creating acid reflux. I found ThinkRite system that believed in Leaky Gut and offered blood testing for food intolerance and I took their blood test. It came out positive finding I had several foods of which I was intolerant to. I removed the offending foods and after about 6 months all of my aliments left including my CFS (of which was my worst aliment). I found that the intolerant foods were causing inflammation in my system because with a Leaky Gut whole food particles escape through your gut lining and weather it is a healthy food or not the immune system notify the brain that a foreign invader has entered the blood stream undigested. Even healthy foods undigested entering the bloodstream are deemed as a poison because it has not been properly prepared and broken down for the body to use it for nutrition. There is much more to be said about this condition and the info can be found with this company but in a nutshell....after all of these years of suffering....the pain is gone...not sort of gone but ALL gone....and to prove that the testing was for real all I have to do is go back and eat the foods that came up positive and the symptoms come right back within a few days. I now feel great!...Hope this helps.

Which blood tests did the ThinkRite system use?  I am interested.  I also have Leaky Gut syndrome.  But, try getting the support we need at a conventional doctor.  They act as if we're insane.  And, most don't believe in CFS/FMS or MCS, which are all aggravated by the Leaky Gut.  We're lucky that they even recognize IBS.  It's really annoying, because any time they can't find a reason for the symptoms it's automatically called IBS.  While IBS is an accurate diagnosis for the most part, they're missing the forest for the trees.  They totally missed the Celiac and still don't acknowledge it, eventhough my nephew has it, too, and it's known to usually be genetic in origin.  I know what a lot of my allergies are through use of the elimination diet.  The list is longer than my arm.  But, I know I'm missing something, because I'm still having symptoms in the gut and still having blisters in my mouth from something I'm eating that I haven't been able to pinpoint.  And, my diet is already so limited, too.
