Flashes

I took a blow to eye 12 days ago. I have had my eyes examined twice since, with no retinal problems reported or any sign of anything to worry about from the docs. I still see flashes when i move my eye back and forth. they are always in the same spot. they resemble the spots you see when you look into the sun and look away. i heard the doc say to the nurse that it was photopsias. what is causing these spots, and when should they start to disappear? are they the rods and cones, or something tugging at the retina? i have been given the signs of worry for a retinal tear or detachment, but none of those symptoms have occurred as of yet.

Be thankful that no retinal tear has occurred yet. Follow your instructions and keep close follow up with ophthalmologsit and let him know if any new changes. Your flashes should improve over several weeks. You are very fortunate.

I woke up this morning seeing after each blink of my right eye some kind of transparent round-square shape (not big) in the middle of my vision. It doesn't interfered that much with my sight though,( I can't see it, as long as I blink) but its kind of annoying.
