my testicles for the past 2 years have been shrinking and I have been gaining weight...really gaining....I have a potbelly I am only 25 ...........I don't drink or smoke.........is the weight causing me testicular atrophy.....
my questions:
can obesity cause testicular atrophy?
if so when I lose the weight will the testicles grow back to normal?

Obesity is related metabolically to low total testosterone levels and elevation of female hormones. While I have not seen testes atrophy referenced to obesity, I can understand such an occurrence. Weight loss should help you to regain a more normal hormonal makeup. Note that your description (potbelly, weight gain) are significant symptoms of the "metabolic syndrome" which is associated with heart attacks. I think that you should make great efforts to change your dietary habits and exercise routine in order to preserve your life. A visit to your primary care physician for a complete physical exam is important to look for medical causes for obesity.
