what does it mean when they say there are two uptakes showen in the pet scan

My husband had a pet scan this week aND THE DOCTORS OFFICE JUST CALLED AND SAID THEY FOUND AN UPTAKE AT THE BASE OF HIS TONGE AND ALSO IN HIS BLADDER THEY ARE BOTH VERY SMALL IN SIZE, WHAT i AM WORRIED ABOUT IS HE HAS A BIG PROBLEM SWALLOWING HIS FOOD NOW BECAUSE OF THE RADIATION HE HAD 10 YEARS AGO FOR HEAD NICK AND THROAT CANCER, DOES THIS MEAN IT HAS COME BACK AND IF SO WILL HE BE ABLE TO HAVE RADIATION AGAIN HE HAD 39 TREATMENTS 10 YEARS AGO. OR COULD UPTAKE MEAN SOMETHING ELSE, HE CHOCKS ON EVERYTHING HE EATS BUT BECAUSE OF THE RADIATION HE HAS LOST MOST OF THE MUSSEL IN HIS THROAT.
