Head pressure

by pattig, Nov 28, 2008 08:34PM
Has anyone had any effective treatment for "head pressure"..... squeezing, tightness of head, not really pain.
My daughter suffers these symptoms (about 8 months now) and is being treated for anxiety/depression but so far none of the meds help her head pressure symptoms.

Has had MRI, CT Scan and Opthamology tests... all normal.  Does she need a lumbar puncture to rule out any hypertension in the brain?  Has seen 3 neurologists, endocrinologist, 2 ENT's....  she really feels none of this is anxiety or depression related.

Should we seek a headache/migraine specialist?

Thank you for any help you can provide.

Let the daughter do this breathing technique and you will notice positive benefits in days. You do it also and you will understand how the daughter is getting the benefit.
Build up your timing gradually. If you feel tired or dizzy, stop and resume after 1 minute.

Anulom Vilom -  Close your right nostril with thumb and deep breath-in through left nostril
then – close left nostril with two fingers and breath-out through right nostril
then -keeping the left nostril closed  deep breath-in through right nostril
then - close your right nostril with thumb and breath-out through left nostril.
This is one cycle of anulom vilom.
Repeat this cycle for 15 to 20  minutes twice a day(maximum 60 minutes in one day).
You can do this before breakfast/lunch/dinner or before bedtime or in bed.Remember to take deep breaths into the lungs.

Bhramri Pranayam -Close eyes. Close ears with thumb, index finger on forehead, and rest three fingers on base of nose touching eyes. Breathe in through nose. And now breathe out through nose while humming like a bee.
Duration : 5 to 15 times

Thanks for that technique hava.

Does anyone else suffer from this type of headache, pressure not pain?  Could this be some form of atypical migraine?
