Nuetered male still trying

I have a 11 year old male cat that has been nuetered for about 10 years now. and i have a 1 yr old unspayed female. my male Fluffy keeps trying to have a sex with her. she went out of heat a week ago and he is still trying.  but his penis erect and tmi but was trying to get in her. is this normal? it just seems odd to me thanks in advance

I think that this is normal.  Your male is picking up pheromones that your female has when she's in heat-your male smells them and tries to get some action.  Once you get her fixed, then I can almost guarantee that this will stop.

I wouldn't wait too long to get her fixed.  The longer you wait, the more likely she will get breast cancer and uterine cancer.  Ask your vet, they'll tell ya the same thing!

I always hate when this happens. Sometimes testosterone levels will build to a sufficient level despite being neutered and make a male cat act out sexually.

There isn't much to be done about it, although as Zodiacqueen points out, getting the female fixed could help.

I had a male cat that did the same thing. Even though he was fixed he still sprayed and tried to breed. Matter of fact my neighbors cat got pregnant and they tried to blame it on mine. I told them no mine is fixed and has been since he was about a year old.
