spermatocelectomy

My husband had a spermatocelectomy 5 days ago and is experiencing pain still in the groin area next to his penis could you tell me if this is normal for this surgery and maybe what else could be expected if normal healing occurs and the amount of time it would take?

First of all, he ought to discuss this with his urologist. This person will have intimate knowledge of what and how this procedure was done in his case.
I would expect some pain for 1-2 weeks, but I would expect it to be getting better each day. The swelling can be quite impressive initially, but here again, things improve daily. It may take a month or two for the swelling to resolve completely.
Infections, if they occur, usually are seen at around 7 days.
I advise my patients not to be sexually active for at least a week or two.
