Why have my periods suddenly changed?

by coocoo88, Nov 29, 2008 11:18PM
i was diagnosed with PCOS 8 years ago, and since, have never ever EVER had a period unless i have remebered to take my pill everyday. 3 months ago i was 'surprised' to find during work, that my peroid had come, a first, as i had not taken my pill at all, and the following two months, the same. Before i would never even notice my period was there, it would last a good 5/6 days but was light, had no pains at all... nothing to indicate it was my 'time of month', yet for the past 2 months, ive been irritable, had bad back and stomach pains, and my period has been heavy. what suprises and confuses me more, is that, as far as i am aware, the situation starts to control itself once you lose weight, whereas i have always had a weight problem, and am quite overweight, my weight has increased over the past two months by 8 kg (i was home on sick leave) and yet my periods have changed?? im very confused!! can any one shed some light on the how and why???
