Paranoid?

by swedenguy, Nov 30, 2008 12:26AM
Hello - About 10 days ago I had an encounter with a sex worker in Indonesia. Before putting on a condom I inserted vaginally twice (not fully). The rest of the vaginal sex was with a condom except for oral (on me) in the end. The next morning I woke up feeling sick, run-down, achy like I had the flu. This persisted for about 4-5 more days (no nasuea or change in appetite).

About 3 days later I started getting a warmish feeling in my testicles. It has come and gone for the last week. I was tested today for G/C and my doc said there was nothing visible. He said not to worry too much about the warmness.

Is this a symtom I should worry about...driving me crazy? Thanks

What are my chances I contracted an STD? The girl had papers claiming no HIV/HPV but those can be fake.

Unprotected is unprotected so even though you "only" inserted your penis vaginally on two occasions, this was an unprotected exposure to a higher than average risk partner.  Getting tested was a good idea.  At the same time, if the tests are negative as I suspect will be the case, you should not worry further.

STD symptoms do not have their onset on the day after exposure although the onset of guilt is often rather abrupt.  The "warmish feeling" you have noted in your testicles is really not consistent with STD either so I would echo your doctor and suggest that you not be concerned about those symptoms.

Have told you not to worry twice now, I also need to agree with you that your partner's papers were fake.  When over 85% of person have HPV at some time, the idea that a CSW would not, or could prove this to be the case is highly questionable.  Having said that, this does not mean that you are likely to have gotten an STD from this exposure and if your tests are negative I would consider other sources of your symptoms, including guilt and/or anxiety.  Hope this helps.  EWH

p.s.  Remember, condoms should be used from beginning to end of sex.  Starting without one does not offer you meaningful protection.  EWH
