Floating outside my body

by HAKROOMA, Nov 30, 2008 02:19AM

Some times when I sleep I feel that I’m floating up my body and I can’t move or talk. I get the feeling that I’m wake but can’t move.
Is there a reason why this happens to me?
Thanks

Hard to say, and you'll probably get a wide range of personal ideas on the topic. As for my 2 cents worth, it sounds somewhat like a description of sleep paralysis. Otherwise, it also reminds me of when I had dream-like realistic scenes in which I was over my body looking down on myself - I believe they were near death experiences related to not breathing with severe sleep apnea. But in mine my body lay utterly still but there were words exchanged between me and another voice in the upper part of the room. Try to keep some notes about yours and look for a pattern. A good sleep doc should be able to listen to your descriptions and recognize a likely cause.
